Fabregas fit for Spanish league return

Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas is fit to return to Spanish league action on Saturday after being sidelined for three weeks by a hamstring injury, the club said. "Cesc Fabregas is fit again. Today he was given the medical all-clear," the Spanish and European champions said in an online statement. "The midfielder has missed three games through injury, but will be okay for Saturday" and "could play" then when Barcelona host Seville in the league, it said.
Fabregas delighted Barcelona fans by returning to his boyhood team from Arsenal in August. After picking up the injury in training on 1 October Fabregas missed two league matches and a UEFA Champions League clash with Czech side Plzen, plus two internationals for Spain against Scotland and the Czech Republic.
"Cesc was on great form before getting injured, with five goals in nine games, and was offering certain midfield options that were unavailable to the manager before," the club said. Defender Gerard Pique, forward Alexis Sanchez and midfielder Ibrahim Afellay remain injured. Barcelona lead the Spanish league table with 17 points, one point ahead of fierce rivals Real Madrid and level with surprise contenders Levante.

A New Libya Free Of Moammar Gadhafi!

A New Libya Free Of Moammar Gadhafi!

Freshly liberated from the threat of deposed ruler Moammar Gadhafi, Libyans now face the arduous challenges of repairing the war-ravaged country and building a democratic system from the ruins of a four-decade dictatorship.

"This is a time to start a new Libya, with a new economy, with a new education and with a new health system -- with one future," said Mahmoud Jibril, chairman of the National Transitional Council's executive board.

But Gadhafi's son Saif al-Islam -- an outspoken defender of his father's regime who was once viewed as an heir apparent -- is still alive, a senior member of Libya's National Transitional Council said Friday.

"We know the area where he is, and for sure he'll be captured very soon," Mohammed Sayeh said.

Libyans know many obstacles lie ahead. But on Friday, the streets of Tripoli echoed with the sounds of celebratory gunfire, car horns and cheers as crowds ran or danced in alleyways.

In Misrata -- a city scarred by attacks during the Libyan war -- drivers leaned on their horns and came to brake-squealing stops as bands of revelers darted in and out of traffic.

On Thursday, U.S. President Barack Obama told the Libyan people, "You have won your revolution." He pledged American support to Libya's reconstruction efforts.

Gadhafi was captured alive and unharmed as troops from the National Transitional Council overran his hometown of Sirte on Thursday, Jibril said.

U.S., NATO and French officials said transitional government fighters captured Gadhafi's convoy after French warplanes and a U.S. drone immobilized the convoy on its way out of Sirte.

Troops found Gadhafi in a large drainage pipe, according to Ali Aujali, Libya's ambassador to the United States.

But a gunbattle erupted between revolutionary fighters and Gadhafi loyalists as his captors attempted to load him into a vehicle, Jibril said, leaving Gadhafi with a wound to his right arm.

More shooting erupted as the vehicle drove away, and Gadhafi was hit in the head, Jibril said.

Moammar Gadhafi's colorful history

Gadhafi, who ruled Libya for nearly 42 years before rebel forces overthrew him in August, died moments before arriving at a hospital in Misrata.

Jibril said DNA samples confirmed Gadhafi's identity, and the International Criminal Court -- which had issued an arrest warrant for the ousted dictator on war-crimes charges -- has agreed to allow Gadhafi's burial.

Following Gadhafi's death, NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen announced Thursday that the alliance "will terminate our mission," launched in March under a U.N. mandate to protect civilians. NATO's efforts have included strike sorties and airstrikes targeting Gadhafi's military resources.

Justice for Libya, and Pan Am victims

The NTC is expected to officially announce Libya's liberation on Saturday. A new government will then be named and democratic transition would begin.

Fawaz Gerges, a professor of Middle Eastern politics at the London School of Economics, said Libyans still face a difficult political struggle.

The recent fighting around Sirte and Bani Walid -- another holdout of pro-Gadhafi loyalists -- exposed "some major tribal and regional cleavages" that Libyans will have to bridge in forming a new government, he said.

Those differences "could easily escalate, given the extent and the intensity of differences in Libya."

Shashank Joshi, an associate fellow at the Royal United Services Institute in London, said a key division is between Libya's Islamists -- who themselves are fragmented internally to a degree -- and "everyone else," he said.

The transitional authorities will also have to work out how to incorporate former regime loyalists and technocrats into the new Libya, he said.

"The Islamists were oppressed under Gadhafi and have participated in some of the toughest fighting, so they think it's unfair if they do not have a share in power while others -- who may have been party to their oppression in the past -- do," he said.

Then there is the matter of consolidating control over the country's security situation.

"This means ensuring consensus not only at the top of the rebel coalition, but also ensuring that low-level criminals and gangs don't take advantage of the weapons that are still circulating to threaten the safety of Libya's civilian population," said Christopher Chivvis of the RAND Corporation, a nonprofit institution that seeks to improve policy and decision-making.

Libya's new leadership will also have to quickly tend to the populace's basic needs, such as water and power, to bolster its legitimacy, analysts say.

Revenue from Libya's oil will go a long way toward that end.

The country is already producing an estimated 350,000 barrels of oil per day, up from near zero during the depths of the conflict.

Libya could probably double its current production relatively quickly, which at current prices might fetch $80 million or so a day on the open market, analysts say.

But a return to its prewar output of 1.6 million barrels a day -- which could net hundreds of millions of dollars a day -- would involve slow, complicated work.

The Libyan leadership also is lobbying for the release of what some analysts believe to be as much as $150 billion in frozen assets that had been available to the Gadhafi regime around the world.

Those assets range from real estate to stakes in the Italian bank UniCredit; the British publisher Pearson, which owns the Financial Times; and Italy's soccer club Juventus.

Even before Gadhafi's death, the U.S. Treasury Department had already started thawing some $37 billion worth such assets to make them available to the new government in Tripoli.

The department also partially lifted some Libya sanctions, opening the door for U.S. companies and individuals to do business with the Libyan National Oil Corp. and other companies in Libya.

World leaders expressed encouragement for a new Libya, but cautioned that the road ahead won't be easy.

"In the coming days, we will witness scenes of celebration, as well as grief for those who lost so much," U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said. "Yet let us recognize, immediately, that this is only the end of the beginning. The road ahead for Libya and its people will be difficult and full of challenges."

Gadhafi's killing caps a revolt that began in February and left him a fugitive for the past two months. The mercurial former army officer, who seized power in a 1969 coup, was the third Arab leader ousted in the Arab Spring upheavals that began in neighboring Tunisia in January

Romeu living Chelsea dream

Midfielder proud to have made his Champions League debut
Oriol Romeu admits it is a 'dream' to be playing for Chelsea after he made his UEFA Champions League debut for the club earlier in the week.
The promising midfielder joined Chelsea in the summer from Barcelona and was handed his first European start for the club in the 5-0 thrashing of Genk on Wednesday.
He produced a solid performance for the Blues on the back of two substitute appearances in the Premier League and he is delighted to be part of Andre Villas-Boas' squad.
"I'm proud to play my first game in the Champions League," said Romeu
"Obviously, it's a dream for me to play with these players, with this team.
"I need to keep working, to keep training well, and then the chance will arrive.
"It's a dream for me. I am a young player and to play with these players, I learn a lot."
The 20-year-old also believes that he and fellow summer arrival Juan Mata have helped each other and, finally, Fernando Torres to make themselves feel at home at Chelsea.
"It's better for him, for Juan, for me to have here players from Spain," he continued.
"You can relax with them, you can speak with them and, on the pitch, I think you have a better relationship to play with them.
"We are friends so sometimes we go to dinner, to lunch."

Muammar Gaddafi Dead

The news of Muammar Gaddafi's capture and death spread like wildfire across the world on Thursday. Media outlets, world leaders and locals in Libya were among those reacting to the news.
In response to Gaddafi's death, celebrations erupted in Libya and neighboring nations. Many took to the streets to chant, cheer and wave Libya's National Transitional Council flag.
Gaddafi's whereabouts had been unknown since Tripoli fell to revolutionary forces earlier this year. Most accounts agreed he had been holed up with heavily armed supporters in Sirte. The Mediterranean coastal town was the last major bastion of resistance since his 42-year reign ended in August.
Among the reports, BBC News highlighted what may have been the former Libyan leader's last words. Gaddafi reportedly asked one fighter: "What did I do to you?"

Goodluck Jonathan Depletes The Strategic Foreign Reserve By $3.5 Billion In 2011 Alone

Goodluck Jonathan and Ngozi Okonjo Iweala Goodluck Jonathan and Ngozi Okonjo Iweala

President Goodluck Jonathan's financial recklessness has further depleted the strategic foreign reserve of the Nigerian state by $3.5 billion in 2011 alone, according to  information obtained by SaharaReporters.

A  source at the ministry of finance told SaharaReporters at the weekend that when Mr. Jonathan came into office, he met a robust foreign reserve in place, but this year alone, he and his gluttonous inner circle have frittered away $3 billion of the reserves, which is now at $32 billion, down from $35 billion in January.

This situation is further compounded by criminal rent seeking and petroleum subsidy applied to petroleum products importers, notably Femi Otedola, who are also members of Jonathan's "Economic Team."  In 2011, rent seekers and economic leeches will get $6 billion in the name of petroleum subsidy.

A Central Bank of Nigeria document however states that so far petroleum product importers have only imported $7 billion worth of fuel imports, meaning that only $1 billion of their investment has been spent on import, with Nigeria being made to subsidize and reward their criminal activities with $6 billion.

SaharaReporters also learnt that foreign multinational oil companies are ripping Nigeria off through a maze of sharing and royalty agreements that were agreed upon in the 90s when oil prices were at $30 per barrel.  Last week, following an extraordinary meeting of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) on October 10, the CBN revealed in a communiqué that a substantial part of oil production (about 40%) is currently in deep offshore wells.
“Based on terms agreed in the 1990s when oil price was under $30, royalty from oil wells deeper than 1,000 metros is zero percent and the nation is maidenly 20 %of profit by oil companies after deducting their expenses, as a result the country (Nigeria) has had limited benefit from high polio prices and increasing output, with most of the gains going to multinational oil companies under and inequitable fiscal arrangement," the MPC said.

Whereas the MPC recommended the passing of the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) to stop the scams in that industry, it however recommended that Nigerians be saddled with the burden of paying for the crimes of the rent seekers involved in petroleum subsidy scams and blamed “discordant voices” for delaying “enabling legislation for correcting fiscal terms.”  The committee asked that Nigerians be made to pay higher prices for petroleum products that would put some $10 billion back into the economy.
“Whereas the labour unions have genuine concerns about the impact of subsidy removal on the poorer segments of society, the stark reality is that the country is living above its means,” the MPC said.

The MPC estimates that “simply passing the PIB and removing subsidies on Premium Motor Spirit(PMS) will add at least $10 billion to national reserves annually,” with no consideration of how quickly irresponsible governing vultures will descend on it at the expense of the nation’s poor on whose back such numbers will be made up.

■GOVERNOR UDUAGHAN'S DAUGHTER,ORODE SET TO WED

Orode, the 22-year-old daughter of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State will be walking down the aisle very soon. And this is authoritative.

The impending wedding of Orode, however is not with the former West African Idol’s contestant,Eric Arubayi who was a longtime boyfriend of hers.

No one can put a finger on why they broke up since Orode’s parents took an instant liking to the light complexioned dude,so much that it was alleged that his father was made the Vice Chancellor of Delta State University,Abraka because of the relationship, which both families had thought would lead to the altar.

All that is history now as Orode will be tying the knot with one of the sons of Raymond Okpu,a renowned Economist on the board of Intercontinental Homes,Chairman of Willich Nigeria Limited,Kurvers Nigeria Limited and Transfield West Africa Limited.

AT LAST! BISHOP OYEDEPO RECONCILES WITH BROTHER-IN-LAW,BISHOP OLUTAYO

It all started 6 years ago while David Olutayo was the Bishop-in-charge of the Abuja parish of the Winners Chapel founded by Bishop David Oyedepo who is married to the sister of Olutayo hence the latter was seen as one of the pillars of Winners Chapel in the country.

He had been around since the beginning of the church. It was therefore inconceivable that he would be treated nonchalantly by the church headed by his own brother-in-law.

He therefore moved out and established his own church,Good Tidings Bible Church.

It took off in the same Area 1 where he once headed Winners Chapel.Naturally, many of those who believed in his calling as well as those who believed he was not fairly treated followed him down and they held on till today as he heads 1 of the big churches in the city, with a structure that would make many pastors green with envy.

A few weeks back,David Olutayo lost his father who incidentally is the father-in-law to David Oyedepo and so the latter had to attend the burial.
The 2 men of God were said to have embraced with the Winners Chapel founder asking that his former Pastor forget what happened in the past and that they should turn a new leaf.

Oyedepo was also said to have told Olutayo that he would be willing to come to Abuja and minister in Olutayo’s church any time he gets an invitation.

COMIC ACT,BABA SUWE TO FILE A LAWSUIT AGAINST NDLEA FOR DEFAMATION OF CHARACTER

According to NDLEA Director-General, Femi Ajayi,Babatunde Omidina, aka Baba Suwe would undergo Computerised Tomography Scan (CT Scan). and if the scan result shows that the actor has no drug concealed in his stomach, then he will be released.

He claimed the comic Actor will be released if after third excretion, no drug is found. This is in line with the NDLEA standard operational rule, that says suspect should be released after third excretion.

Ajayi further said Baba Suwe will only get an apology from NDLEA as he should take this as a sacrifice in the war against drugs.

He ruled out the possibility of the actor taking legal action.

Ajayi said: “As far as we are concerned Baba Suwe is innocent, at least for now, it is just normal that when there is reasonable suspicion, we take people in for observation.

Findings revealed that Baba Suwe would likely file a lawsuit against NDLEA for defamation of character

Fred Amata In Court Over Unpaid Rent

Popular Nollywood actor and producer Fred Amata is facing some real ‘drama’, as on Thursday, October 13, 2011 he was reportedly brought before the Magistrates’ court for allegedly owing a year’s rent, News Agency of Nigerian (NAN) has reported.
Several newspapers last weekend reported that Amata was dragged to court by the plaintiff – Mr. I.F Fadoyebo, a landlord, who told the court in his statement that the respected actor owed him N600,000, being the yearly rent for his apartment.
Fadoyebo also said his four-bedroom bungalow situated at 8, Razaq Balogun Street, Surulere was occupied by Amata illegally as he failed to pay his rent for a year. He stressed that he had served the actor a quit notice but he failed to acknowledge it.
The News Agency of Nigerian (NAN) has also reported that Amata never showed up in court on the said day. But we are told Amata’s lawyer Chris Okoh was present to tell the court that his client was ill and couldn’t appear in court.
The case has been adjourned to Tuesday, October 18, 2011 for further hearing.
Speaking with our reporters, Amata said he was mourning the death of his mother who passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2011. ‘You’ll have to book an appointment, I’m mourning the death of my mother and I want all that to pass away before I move on’, Amata told Nigerian Entertainment Today.

Relationship Between Men And Women

Relationship Between Men And Women

Every woman, no matter the age, loves to be loved and pampered. Don’t blame us, God made us that way. To a good number of Nigerian men, it’s all about how much you have in your pocket. But I don’t really blame you because my fellow ladies have made you believe there is no relationship without a fat bank account. But have you wondered why we have wives of the so called rich and very busy men go around with boys they fend for?
Men now believe a girl can be treated anyhow and be pacified later by a fat cheque, exotic ride, and holiday to the Caribbean. Maybe it has been working for you simply because you have always met the greedy ones. But a time will come when you will fall head-over-heels in love with a girl only to have her walk out of your life. Then you will come to agree with me that there are dos and don’ts in every relationship.
Many relationships in Nigeria are in trouble because our dear men have refused to see women as partners. To them, she is just another piece of furniture and should be treated as one. Men still believe a woman should be seen and not heard. I still wonder when I see men beat their wives and girlfriends. This has led to the breakup of many relationships as the lady would rather live outside the relationship than die in the relationship.
I so much agree in a man being the head of every relationship. Everyone knows Amara is a strong supporter and promoter of African culture. But guys, I still see many African men who treat their wives like partners and not slaves. Treating a woman well has nothing to do with wealth. Yes, a woman deserves some level of comfort but that shouldn’t take the place of companionship.
Be it for a date or marriage, every decent girl wants a man who will always respect and treat her like a lady. To help you succeed in your relationship with the woman of your dream, try these few tips:
APPRECIATE HER:
It takes just a little effort to win a woman’s heart. A woman wants to be appreciated always. No matter how much you spend on your woman, she will never be satisfied until you give her that which her heart longs for. Look at her every morning before you step out of the house and tell her how beautiful she is. Even if you think she is not, I know there is one particular attribute she has which won your heart.
Yours may be a long distance relationship, thank God for GSM. She wants to hear your voice last thing at night, she wants you to talk her to sleep and wake her up the next morning to sweet words(I enjoy this, sleeping off while talking with him). This is the easiest way to win a woman’s heart and have her go the extra mile for you. Don’t let familiarity quench the fire and don’t be deceived into believing she doesn’t care; she does.
SPEND TIME WITH HER:
Give her time. I understand things are getting tougher. Men go through a lot of pressure to make ends meet (women do too). Traffic situation, especially in Lagos, is getting worse by the day but guys all these are not good enough reasons for your failure to spend time with the woman you love. She needs your time not just the goodies. I know a man who does not tolerate visitors in his house on Sunday; it is strictly for him to spend time with his wife and children. Another friend of mine switches off his phones on Sundays to avoid anything taking him away from the intimacy he enjoys with his family. Please deal with the habit of answering calls till you sleep off. Recently, I learnt this and leave my phone on silent once its 9p.m. We existed happily before GSM came and can live without it for just few hours.
GIVE
Be generous with the woman you claim to love. Most guys believe in just words. Guys, love gives. For you to be a good lover, you must be able to give according to your capability. Make that woman the envy of her friends. I am not saying you should go beyond your pocket just to make her happy. She is your woman and knows your worth. Love gives.
REMEMBER
Don’t forget her birthday, marriage anniversary and other important dates. Close early from work on that day and take her to a place she has never been before. Make it a memorable one; after all, she remembers yours. You can get friends for a surprise party for her.
Boy, stop coming up with the excuse of leaving town on an official assignment during St. Valentine season. Some guys make sure the official assignment starts a week before St. Valentine ‘s Day simply because they want to cheat on their wives and girlfriends. If you don’t like her look, get her to change it. This has led a lot of women into unfaithfulness.
•RESPECT HER
Make her feel on top among friends. We know you are the man but please don’t put it on her face. Don’t shout at her in public, that hurts a woman deeply. Guys, it is wrong discussing your woman with friends and relations. If you must, sing her praise. It is wrong gathering in that beer parlour to talk about her.
•CORRECT HER IN LOVE
Women are weaker vessels, so says the Holy Bible. Learn to treat her as one. She is bound to make grievous mistakes, pardon her, and put her on the right track. She may be the nagging type; love her.
•ACCEPT HER
I have seen a lot of men dating a girl without wanting to have anything to do with her job, friends and family. Guys, you must make that girl you claim to love dearly feel accepted. You must be ready to discuss her job, accept her friends and if there are ones you don’t like, gradually make her see reasons. But her family, you must accept. Why would any responsible man or woman stop the partner’s family from visiting?
Don’t try to make her change her job against her wish. I have seen men try to force a lady out of her job due to selfish reasons. Ninety-nine percent of the motive behind it is complex and insecurity. You may try to make her feel the job is too stressful for her but boy, we know why you did that. Inasmuch as you have to protect your own (girlfriend or wife), you don’t have to let your emotions rule all the time.
•TRUST HER
So many men have lost the woman they cherish so much simply because they chose to believe their friends rather than her. When you love a woman, you are bound to be jealous but please, keep it under control. Don’t allow the discussions or experiences of your friends ruin your relationship. Trust your woman, believe her. Some girls have had to walk out of relationships just because their man refused to believe them.
•AVOID BATTERING
Never raise your hands on her. Only cowards beat women. If you want to show us how strong you are, please find men like you in the stadium. Some men even go to the point of hitting their girlfriends and wives in public. That is just a proof of your level of irresponsibility. No matter how much a woman provokes you, never raise a hand on her. Yes, I agree with you, women can get you to the point where you lose control of yourself. But there are men like you handling it the right way. There are better ways to make a woman sober.
•INVOLVE HER
Involve her in your decision making. Don’t rule out her ideas as irrelevant. Women are most times more intelligent than men and if you are blessed to have an intelligent woman around you, please use her. Let the woman in your life know you and what you are worth. Refuse to believe people when they say she will kill you and take your properties.
Most Nigerian widows suffer at the death of their husbands simply because the man trusted his brothers and parents more than his wife and children. Oga, why would you leave your wife and children to make your brother the administrator of your will? No matter how much you trust him, your children and wife will suffer should anything happen.
•FLAUNT HER
Please don’t make your woman feel you are not proud of her. Introduce her to friends and relations; don’t walk far behind her in public. Volunteer to drive her to the spa or supermarket. If you are proud of your woman, let us know you are.
•GIVE HER A BREAK
Allow her to travel and sometimes have a time-out with friends far away from you. Don’t make her lose her individuality because she is with you. Don’t try to force her to become what she is not. A lot of women turn to Zombies when they have their man around but when you see them with friends, you see the lively part of them. Let that girl go, if she is yours she will remain yours. Love isn’t about bondage. Don’t let low self-esteem ruin your relationship.
If Nigerian men can decide to start treating women as individuals and adults, things will get better in the society. This issue of freedom is a very important one. I have seen that the women that find it difficult surviving as widows are those who were never allowed by their husbands to be themselves.
Your relationship with your woman shouldn’t be a cat and rat affair. Please do something to make this weekend an exciting one for her. Every woman, no matter the age, yearns for true love and affection. No woman wants to be made to feel old even when she knows she is getting old

Frank Edoho, Who wants to Be A Millionaire presenter in love again

Popular On Air Personality and Television quiz programme, ‘Who wants to Be A Millionaire’ presenter, Frank Edoho is really in love again.

It would be recalled that Frank and his estranged wife, Katherine, also a TV personality are currently separated over allegations of battery and infidelity against the husband.

It now seems Frank has moved on with his life as he was sighted with a lady at about 2am last Sunday, October 2, 2011 at the new Parking Lot of Eko Hotel & Suites, smooching each other in the darkest part of the area.

Those who saw the love scene said Frank threw caution to the wind and began to fondle the lady’s Oranges.

Our source revealed the identity of the lady as Sandra Onyenaucheya, said to be the new apple of his eyes.

The lovebirds leaned on Frank’s wine colour Range Rover Sport for the love act. The light skinned lady, who is said to be a single mother somehow got uncomfortable later and dragged Frank into the Jeep where they both stayed in for few minutes, probably to finish what they started, before they moved out of the Parking Lot into the main building of the Hotel.

I didn’t fight with Jim Iyke – Emeka Ike

After the reconciliation that took guests who graced the last month opening ceremony of Chika Ike’s Fancy Nancy shop, in Abuja by surprise, Emeka Ike has declared that he never had a fight with the bad boy actor Jim Iyke.
For many years, Emeka Ike and Jim have been sworn enemies but at the event which attracted some of Nollywood’s big wigs, the duo buried the hatchet and agreed to allow by gone be by gone.
The reconciliation is the biggest and the most talked about thing to happen to Nollywood this year.
Emeka admitted that he had issues with Jim Iyke, but it was not such that resulted in exchanging blows as widely reported in some sections of the media.
“Jim is my boy, and he will always be my boy. We had minor issues but it was not a fight. I never had a fight with Jim. Unfortunately, the media cashed in on the misunderstanding and blew it out of proportion. As Christians, all that is gone now.” Emeka told HVP on telephone.
The reconciliation drama, started when Emeka who flew into Abuja from Lagos, on that fateful day was the first to arrive the event venue alongside Mike Ezuruonye. And as the event was rounding off, Jim Iyke was said to have sneaked in. His next move however shocked everyone at the social gathering, as he reached out and hugged Emeka. Soon both entertainers were posing for several shots to immortalise their reconciliation. What a sweet way of settling scores!

Rapper Rick Ross reportedly hospitalized 2nd time

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama (AP) — Rapper Rick Ross was reportedly hospitalized in Alabama after suffering two medical scares in six hours that required planes to be diverted.
The first scare came Friday afternoon as Ross was on a Delta Air Lines flight from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to Memphis, Tennessee, where Ross was to appear at a University of Memphis basketball event that night.
The plane returned to Florida after Ross suffered an unspecified medical problem. He was treated at a Fort Lauderdale hospital, and he even tweeted afterward: "Memphis here I come."
But after Ross hopped a Memphis-bound private jet, it made an unscheduled landing in Birmingham, Alabama, because the 34-year-old singer experienced another medical problem, Memphis basketball coach Josh Pastner told a crowd Friday night.
"On his way to Memphis," Pastner said, "he had to make another emergency landing, in Birmingham. He got really sick again, and they had to rush him to the emergency room."
WMC-TV in Memphis reported that Ross suffered a second medical seizure and had been hospitalized. The news station said the University of Alabama-Birmingham Hospital would not comment on his condition.
A hospital spokeswoman told The Associated Press that no one by Ross's name or his real name, William Leonard Roberts II, was listed as a patient. An emergency room representative, citing federal privacy laws, said she could not confirm the identity of anyone being treated there.
Calls to Ross' publicist from the AP were not returned Friday.
The Miami-based gangsta rapper gained fame with his husky voice and lyrics that spotlighted the grimier side of Miami life. He has become one of rap's most popular figures in recent years.
Ross has a new album entitled "God Forgives, I Don't," due out in December. The hefty rapper's hits include "Aston Martin Music," ''B.M.F. (Blowing Money Fast)" and "Hustlin'."pitalized in Alabama after suffering two medical scares in six hours that required planes to be diverted.

TONTO IN ANOTHER MESS

Will we ever cease to hear controversial stories about our beloved Tonto! The actress has once again landed herself in another hot mess.
Recently, during the shooting of a movie, it was learnt that Tonto Dikeh insulted Ghanaian top actor Van Vicker during a shoot. Details leading to the outburst from Tonto were not really clear, as nobody seems to know exactly what called for it.
Eye witnesses claimed that it all started when Tonto was urged to do a joint rehearsal with the Actor, which is only normal, as they have been having separate rehearsals. Instead of seeing reason with this, Tonto expressed a nonchalant attitude toward the gesture and in the middle of it all, lit a cigarette. This did not go too well with the actor (Vicker) as he tried talking to her to put off the cigarette or do the smoking out of location, and in her rage, our dear beloved Tonto rained insults and abuses on Vicker even threatening to hit him.
]
This was totally out of place as even the actor himself was dumbfounded at the whole situation.
Now due to this insult, word has it that the actress may be banned from either acting in Ghana or featuring in any Ghanaian movie, so she has been urged to either apologize to the star actor as well as the Ghanaian film industry or stand a chance of loosing out on being part of their movie makers.
Van Vicker is a top and well respected actor in Ghana, and as such it is expected that he be respected like any other Nollywood star. The industry has declared that it would take no such nonsense from any star in particular as they have even gone as far as threatening  to sanction any producer who feature the actress in any movie.
For now there are no moves yet from Tonto on whether she would be lowly enough to apologize or if she would decide to call it all bluff. Reports have been made already to the Actors Guild of Nigeria and I hope they take a positive step.
Really if you ask me, I think such action was totally uncalled for, yeah we know Tonto is a hot actress, but then Van Vicker is an actor I totally respect and I think Tonto should have known better.
It could take the snap of a finger to get your career all crumbling down if you don’t get your act right, so try putting yourself together girl.

No daughter of mine marries without University education – King Sunny Ade

Although he is one of the biggest and most influential musicians in Africa, King Sunny has one regret, his l ack of University education. Pained by this short -coming, he has forbidden his daughters from getting married without acquiring a University degree. He bared his mind to Saturday Vanguard at the wedding of one his daughters’ Ruth, last Sunday in Ondo, Ondo State and advised would- be suitors to steer clear of his daughters who are yet to meet his expectations.

Why did you decide to make your daughter wed in a low- key event?
The request was hers. She told me that she just wanted to go to the registry and have a small reception. I had to start calling my friends and apologizing that we are not having an elaborate wedding. Besides, I have other things to celebrate , like my 65th birthday and my mum’s one year remembrance. So, there was no need to invite the whole world to the wedding and call them again a few days later to come for my mum’s anniversary and my birthday.

How much do you miss your mum?
I miss her very much. Although she warned me not to cry when she passes on or when any person dies, I have tried my best not to cry, but I can’t help it. On the day she was buried, I cried and on the first year anniversary of her death when I was about laying the wreath, I realised that I was alone and that my mum is gone and that my adviser is gone. I cried too. I thank God that my mum died at a ripe age but I still miss her.
I still have daughters and sons but my appeal to you guys is that if you want to come and ask my daughters’ hand in marriage, I beg you, let them acquire University education before you marry them. I cherish education, so much because I didn’t have much education.

Do you still want to have more kids?
It’s not that I still want to have more kids but if I decide not to raise kids anymore and one of my wives insists on having one, whom am I to say no. But the truth is, I have begged my wives not to get pregnant any more. I have grand children that are up to 16years and very soon, I will become a great grand pa and you don’t expect a great -grand father to continue to father kids.

We learnt that Ademola Records based in Oyingbo, Lagos is now the major distributor of your old works. Is it true?
king Sunny Ade
Well you are right, because I was formerly with NIRA and since the agreement between us elapsed and I found a new and reliable ally in Ademola records, I decided to give my works to him. Apart from the distributions, it will also help to curb piracy.
How many albums did you give to him?
I gave him all my oldies.

What of the ones released by TYC owned by the Late Bolarinwa Abioro?
Well, the case is still in court so I can’t speak on that. But as far as all my oldies are concerned, the sole distributor is Ademola records. And to make the job easier, my company is the one printing the album sleeves to avoid any problem.
What is the duration of the agreement between you and Ademola records?
It is a year agreement with an option that if he performs, it could be renewed.
As a visiting lecturer to Obafemi Awolowo University, what was your first day in the classroom like?
It was interesting because rather than teaching ,I was taught. The students had done their research work on me and had an insight into what they expected from me. First they had entertained me on stage and I did the same for them.

At 65 how do you feel?
I thank God for my life and I thank God day in, day out because someone had predicted that I’d die before I attained the age of 60. I thank God I’m 65 today.
Are you planning to retire soon?
You can’t retire from music unless you want to retire from active stage shows. But I’m praying to God for strength because you and my fans will not allow me to quit active stage show.

How does it make you feel that none of your children is playing juju music ,instead they prefer hip- hop and other genre of music?
I did not inherit music from my father. By playing music, I became a rebel in the family and I damned the consequence. So, I don’t want any of my children to damn my own kind of consequence. Now I make bold to tell you that those that went to hip- hop are back to juju music.

And how do you feel seeing your colleagues in music dropping the guitar?
As far as KSA is concerned, I still play the guitar. So , whoever does not play, it is his or her own problem. The difference is that I hardly play the guitar at shows but at concerts, it is a matter of must.

Sometime, don’t you feel embarrassed when you play at the wedding of those you played at their naming ceremonies? .
There is one thing I appreciate in transport business, especially those that ply in the Eastern axis of the country. There is a particular one that has the slogan ‘the young shall grow’. So I am presently playing for third generation now and I pray that I will be able to play for the fourth generation. Let me give you an example. A young boy saw me about 16years ago and said King, you will play at my wedding but the mum almost slapped him. But I stopped her and said that is his wish and recently I played at his wedding that shows consistency and God’s favour.

Don Jazzy reaction to Drug trafficking rumor

Following rumors suggesting that Mo’Hits bosses – hit producer Don Jazzy and D’banj were arrested in New York on Sunday, September 25, 2011 for drug trafficking, the G.O.O.D Music/label boss has reacted to the news saying he ‘hopes people are not shallow enough to believe’.
Rumours about the arrest surfaced on micro-blogging site Twitter but Don Jazzy was quick to respond to the news in the most humorous of ways.  ‘Dem catch us with Alomo abi?” a sarcastic response to a tweet asking ‘Wats wit dis rumor abt dbanj N donjazzy being in d custody of F.B.I 4 drug trafficking?’, @DONJAZZY tweeted.
‘If dbanj was caught with drugs in yankee that one mean say for a trip from Ghana to Lagos u need to transit in NY abi? osheee lol’ and ‘laff about it sometimes and hope some people re not shallow enough to actually believe’, He continued.
Apparently, D’banj was returning to Lagos from Ghana while Don Jazzy had just returned from Korea. But both acts were in Lagos when the rumours hit the cyber space.
A Statement from the Mo’Hits media company, Media Image Managers, dispelling the rumours was subsequently released. It reads:
D’banj and Don Jazzy are in Lagos. They are no where near New York. The two respected artistes are proud Nigerians doing the country proud worldwide. They do not need to peddle drugs as they are successful young men who worked hard to get to where they are today. The report making the rounds that they were arrested in America on Sunday is false and an attempt to tarnish the image of these proudly Nigerian artistes. It’s a figment of someone’s evil imagination. D’banj’s media company, Media Image Managers are not losing sleep about this malicious campaign, but records must be set straight. D’banj and Don Jazzy are at their Lekki home in Lagos, Nigeria, they are well and okay. They have had no brush with the law for any reason, not even for a traffic offence.
In June 2011, Don Jazzy and D’banj signed to US rapper Kanye West’s G.O.O.D Music record label

English musician, singer-songwriter and composer Paul McCartney has gotten married for the third time. The news was confirmed by celebrity gossip magazine US Weekly.
The former member of the English rock band The Beatles tied the knot with New Yorker Nancy Shevell in a civil ceremony at the Old Marylebone Town Hall, Westminster, London on Sunday, October 9, 2011.
McCartney presented Shevell with a five-carat square-cut Neil Lane diamond set in a platinum ring at the low profile wedding ceremony which was attended by 30 close friends of the couple.
